What is FACC IT?

At FACC IT we believe life is for living... but it is also worth fighting for. FACC IT stands for “Forget About Climate Change In Total” and this brand exists because, frankly, we’re already sick of hearing about the issue. However, the more we do to address it, the quicker we deal with the problem and the less we’re going to be talking about it... which is a win-win for everyone. We believe that, by having constructive conversations around the issue and taking meaningful steps to address it, we can eventually put this issue to the back of our minds... completely… forever… “in total”.

Our Story

Picture
Our climate change journey started with an episode of South Park. The episode depicted ex-vice president Al Gore as a bit of a madman, as he ran around town warning everyone about “ManBearPig” (a creature half man, half bear, half pig).

At 13 years old, Oli (our founder) understandably thought “who the hell is Al Gore and what the f*** is manbearpig?”, so he ended up watching a few videos on climate change.

Being an avid David Attenborough fan with a love for wildlife, he followed it in the news for around 10 years, with growing concerns for it’s impact on nature. But even after reading hundreds of articles there were still so many questions he felt he didn’t have the answers to. Particularly, “how much is it likely to impact my future?”.

He set about answering that question and it didn’t take him long to conclude that how we handle this crisis was likely to impact his future more than anything else, and that it was in his best interest to do something about it. The question then became, “how do you get people to the same point he got to?”, where they are intrinsically motivated to take action. Not long after, FACC IT was born.
